Carpet Cleaning FAQ — Tulsa, OK

Answers to the most common questions about carpet cleaning in Tulsa, OK. Don't see yours? Call us — we're happy to answer.

How much does carpet cleaning cost in Tulsa?

The cost depends on the total square footage, the condition of the carpet, and whether pet urine has soaked into the pad under it. A small two-bedroom home with lightly soiled carpet costs less than a large house in south Tulsa with deep pet staining across multiple rooms. We do not quote prices over the phone because we have no way to know what we are actually dealing with until we see it. Call for a free estimate.

How long does carpet cleaning take in Tulsa?

Most homes take two to four hours from the time we start to the time we pack up. A larger house in Broken Arrow or Owasso with five or six rooms and a lot of pet staining can run longer. Drying time after hot water extraction is usually four to eight hours depending on how well the house is ventilated and the outdoor humidity that day.

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Most households do fine with a cleaning once a year. If you have dogs or cats, or kids who track in Tulsa red clay from outside, twice a year is more realistic. Carpet that goes three or more years between cleanings builds up grit in the fiber that wears the carpet out faster even if it does not look dirty.

Will hot water extraction make my carpet wet for days?

Truck-mounted extraction pulls most of the moisture back out in the same pass. Carpet cleaned that way is usually dry in four to eight hours. If you open windows or run a fan, it goes faster. Cheap portable machines leave more water behind, which is why some people think carpet cleaning always means a two-day wait.

Can you get pet urine smell out of carpet completely?

It depends on how deep the urine went. If it soaked through the fiber into the pad and down to the subfloor, cleaning the carpet surface alone will not fix the smell. Homes built in the 1970s and 1980s often have thicker original padding that absorbs a lot. We use a UV light to find every spot and enzyme treatment to break down the source. In severe cases the pad has to be replaced — we will tell you honestly if that is the situation.

Do I need to move furniture before the cleaning crew arrives?

Move small items like lamps, toys, and anything breakable before we get there. We can shift sofas and chairs during the job to clean under them, but we do not move heavy furniture like pianos, large bookshelves, or beds. If there are rooms with a lot of furniture, clear a path so the hoses can reach the carpet without knocking things over.
